Im a Christmas Unicorn!

It has been a very... snowy... cold... emotional rollarcoaster week... but what else do you expect serving in the Michigan Lansing Mission?
Monday was great! We had an awesome p-day getting Christmas cards... and yes we did do a self timer at the local grocery story (Meijer) and yes we did get weird looks.  We also went Christmas shopping so a package is on the way! Then we taught T, I love her!
Tuesday We went finding for quite some time.  We also got to have dinner with a member of the ward who had an AMAZING conversion story.  I love hearing people's conversion stories because it reminds me of how awesome missionary work is.  Also we taught P and she is really working to quit smoking
Wednesday we had a great district meeting and we got to have dinner with a ward member at the coolest retirement home ever.  It used to be a super old home for "troubled girls"  And so it has super cool long h always and stained glass and stuff.  It was fun.
Thursday we saw T and she crushed all her cigarettes and started the no smoking program and she has been clean all week!! I am so proud of her!
Friday  we had trade-offs.  I stayed here in Grand Valley and we taught N.  She is so cool and she even took notes on the Plan of Salvation.  I just love her.   Then we had lunch at a member who served his mission with the sister I was with's dad.  Also we got to go to the Relief society Christmas party that night which was great!
Saturday we taught A and it was GREAT!! He was the guy we put on date like our first week here and the member we brought offered to drive him to church and everything. Aaannnd we may have gotten stuck in a ditch because it was really snowy... but Sister Robertson got out and pushed and we made it! #Heavenlyfatherstrengthensus Also a member took us to dinner and then we went to the largest Christmas light display in Michigan! It was fun.
Sunday was kind of sad... so I was pumped for church but then it got cancelled due to the crap ton of snow aaaannnd A dropped us, said he didn't want to be baptized... I feel like I have gone through a million break-ups on my mission.  So we went door-knocking and it was so cold so I wore my batman pajamas under my skirt and coat to stay warm.  Then a family fed us and gave us Christmas presents which was a huge tender mercy!  The day felt off though and I know it is because we didn't get the sacrament... It is SO IMPORTANT!! I see a huge difference
Anywho that is about all... I love this work! Also I got lots of packages this week and I LOVED the letters from the Family in St. George! It was the best!
Fun fact: If you ever feel bad for yourself, read Mormon 9... Moroni went through so much so we could have the Book of Mormon.  We are so blessed!

Its beginning to look a lot like... Spam Sushi

Hey everybody!! It has been a great week!  We are seeing a lot of Christmas miracles, the Light the World initiative is great, if you aren't doing it... check it out!  Also we were without a car the whole week which was hard, but it was good too!
Monday was great! The STL's gave us a ride to e-mailing and shopping.  Then we napped and went to dinner with the Empty Nesters
Tuesday was great! We had interviews with President, which is always great and a stellar district meeting.  We got to bear our testimonies of Christ which I love.  Then got Holiday pancakes from Ihop.  Also we had a lesson with T, we moved her baptismal date to the 24th! She is doing great at cutting back smoking!
Wednesday was really a cool day.  We went finding on the bus a lot because we had no car... met some ... fun people.  But we had a cool experience because we got off the bus at where we were meeting an investigator and one of the girls we were talking to on the bus got off with us and she said she heard some weird things about Mormons, so we asked if we could sit down and tell her what we actually believed and it was an amazing lesson... she may have even teared up!! She is amazing her name is N.  Then we met another investigator at a Restaurant and after our meeting a man sitting behind us  told us how much he loved listening to us talk about God... Yay for Christmas!! (Also this investigator dropped us today... I feel like I got broken up with... mission life... ... it was best buy guy...)
Thursday was good! We had another good meeting with T and we met the Elders old investigator C at Ihop... we forgot to tell him we were girls so he was super confused.  He said the Church wasn't his style but he was up for meeting and we told him it's not about finding your favorite church it's about finding the church that brings you closer to God.  That really affected him.  Also Mom's package came and it was so great!!!
Friday we went to go find a referral and we had a lesson with her and she is on date!! Her name is R.  She is a little shy, but super nice!  We also talked to some sweet people on the bus including a guy whose name is Storm-bringer... Also, Storm-bringer says he knows the cure for cancer! (I love the bus) Also we had a cute couple take us to an appointment to see one of the older ladies in the ward and we got a little lost... but it was fun!!
Saturday we had a lesson with N (from Tuesday)  We met at the Library and we were in the middle of reading from The Book of Mormon when this pastor guy comes up and starts debating with us about the Trinity and about how Mormonism was false.  BUT... N totally was defending us and telling about how she has already found a lot of truth in Mormonism and she is going to base her decisions on what God tells her and so far he hasn't said anything bad about Mormonism... it was frustrating but also super cool to see N bear the testimony she already has after meeting with us once!! She is so cool!! And she has the cutest kids!! The rest of the day was cold an uneventful so we bought a carton of ice-cream from the gas station and carried it like a mile home...
Sunday R came to church... she said it was interesting... hopefully that means good! The ward is awesome at fellow-shipping her though... this ward is great! Also we got to help decorate a members Christmas tree and they heard about the Spam situation and helped us get rid of some by making us SPAM SUSHI! It wasn't even that bad... also... IT SNOWED1!!!!! I don't know if you knew this but I love snow in December.  Also the Christmas devo was fantastic! I am so glad to be serving for another Christmas!! I truly know that Christ is the light of the world.
Fun fact:  the song "Oh Christmas Tree"  Was originally "Oh Michigan"  (I'm not actually sure how reliable this info is I heard it from an Old man with a Harmonica...)
Also, please excuse the cheesy white-girl photo of us on the Christmas tree, I was just so excited about our tree and Polaroids because... I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!

Gobble Up Some Gospel

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!! Sounds like St. George was pretty fun!! Here is my week...
Monday, p-day we spent a lot of time getting Christmas decor #yaaaayy christmas!!! Also Sister B had to get a new camera card and it resulted in us talking to 3 people about the gospel and we got two phone numbers! Yay!!
Tuesday we had a lesson with E (the 82 year old) And sister B told me I "threw down"  I didn't think so but we finally got him to listen to us... I guess.  Also we had another lesson with an investigator the Elders were teaching and it was super hard because her grandaughter was so cute but really distracting.... AH!
Wednesday we taught one of the guys we met on P-day at Best Buy! He was SO COOL!!! He is really sincere and wants to know.  His name is J and we are pumped about him.  Also we got to help a lady do service by cleaning her house.. so that was fun!
Thursday... Thanksgiving!! We decorated our apartment in the morning and watched Mr. Kruegers Christmas #Ilovechristmas!! I don't know if you knew that.  Then we went to a part members house and had Thanksgiving... man my weaknesses were truly shown because we had to help them cook and he was SO surprised I didn't know how to cook... it was a struggle.  After being there 4 hours... we had a delightful dinner!
Friday We went finding all day and we have been praying to find specific people and we prayed for a guy wearing a hat... and first guy we talked to was wearing a hat!! Yay!!
Saturday we were fasting for the mission fast of 280 baptisms! We found some cool potentials and since we didn't have much food in our apartment we went to break our fast with Indian food!!! Yay!! Then we felt like we should drop by some less actives and her friend who was in another ward was there and they were SO excited.  They kept telling us it was no coincidence we stopped by.  I love hearing that.
Sunday we got to go to all 3 hours of church #yayplumming and the ward is great and really helpful!! We also went finding like all day after which was good... Also in this area we don't have a car some weeks  and it is HUGE so... wish us luck!!
Love you all! This Church is true and I love being out here on a mission!!
Fun fact:  Sister B uncle found out about our spam situation and sent us a SPAM COOKBOOK I think we are now known as the Spam sisters... no complaints !
please do not judge me in these pictures... I look TERRIBLE!!!!!! But my comp is cute so just look at her.  She's just so fun.

SPAM-bled eggs

Wow... This week has been SPAM PACKED...hehehe get ready for an e-mail full of Spam puns.
Anywho, Monday was interesting.  None of the Sisters had a car so we had no way to get anywhere so.... 2.5 hour nap!! Then we made puzzles for FHE and I normally hate puzzles and It wasn't even that bad! I normally hate Puzzles... then because of Thanksgiving we got transfer calls early... I'M LEAVING WAH!!!! I was soooo bummed to leave right before the Holidays. #NO!!  I am with Sister B and we are whitewashing the Grand Valley ward in Grand Rapids.   We took over for some Elders and the ward is PUMPED to have sisters.
So Tuesday was full of good-byes and sad stuff, #don'tmakemego!  but we had one last lesson with H and.... SHE'S ON DATE!!! Yay!! She wants to be baptized December 31st!! Yay!!
Wednesday I left in the morning SAD STUFF!! So we went to Grand Valley and we are taking after Elders, so we are whitewashing... and we got to our apartment and we got a sneak peak at how the other half lives.... SO MUCH SPAM!!! It was ridiculous! I do not understand why the apartment has so much spam.... so we decided to try it out because neither of us have had spam, so we made SPAM-bled eggs... slightly weird, but not.  I will try to send pics.  It was an adventure.  So we had no idea where to begin so we did lots of phone calls and went to visit some less actives.  We met a super cool recent convert newly wed couple! They are so cool!!
Thursday we met a cool guy at Mcdonals where we were meeting a member and he was interested in learning more about the Gospel... so that was cool!! We door knocked into this adorable old man and He invited us back to have a lesson the next day, he was so cute!!
Friday was a miracle day... we needed rides to all of our lessons because it was carfast day (hehe didn't miss those on campus)  and we found a ride to all 3 of them!! And the members were nice enough to come to two of them!! One was Tresa, an investigator the Elders found who wants to be baptized but is working on quitting smoking and So it was good meeting her and we were so blessed to have rides.  One of our lessons was with a less active and she gave us a ride, but it was POURING rain so we had to take shelter in Lowes and we tried to talk to people about the gospel there, it was a little challenging. But hey, as long as we are trying to be productive
Saturday was SPAM-TASTIC It snowed and was freezing so we listened to Christmas music to warm our hearts (tee hee)  It worked.  And we went to go visit a referral who lived in the Middle of Nowhere so we door knocked around there and it was so cool because there was this guy we who let us in to have a lesson (His Mom was there) and we taught the Resto and he LOVED it!! He said he felt like he had only been given half a birthday cake instead of the whole thing!! So... that was cool AND to make it better he wants to be baptized!!! IT WAS SUCH A MIRACLE we weren't even sure if it was real life.  His name is Aaron and he is legit.  He called us sweet a@# messangers... we may have to work on language?
I have no Idea what the Spam happened yesterday... we went to church for the sacrament... and then they cancelled the rest of church because the toilets where backed up....?  So so much for meeting all the ward, whatever. We also had Thanksgiving Pizza at a members house?  Not bad... but I am sick of eating... the ward feeds us way too well.  The ward is so great and welcoming though! Well, this is a super long e-mail... and that's about all I have to say.  But I know that this work is inspired, sometimes I have no Idea how God works but I know he is real and works through the spirit.
Fun Fact:  Grand Rapids is the anti-mormon literature capital of the world or something.... so that's nice.  Bring on the refiners fire!!
Love you all have a great Thanksgiving!! Still enjoying the pants and the tape from last year.

President Jacobsen for President!

Hello all! Transfer calls are tonight, so hopefully I will stay here in K-zoo!

Monday we had a great Zone P-day.  It was fun! I love it when a bunch of missionaries get together, missionaries are the best!!

Tuesday was AMAZING!! We went to Lansing for  mission leadership conference and it was exactly what I needed.  I felt the spirit so strong and a lot of questions I had about being a missionary were answered.  Also, I got to see all my friends... yay friends!!

Wednesday was good, we taught R and asked her to pray right then to know if what we are saying is true, and she said she feels it is partially true but she needs to know more,  I have learned we just have to wait for God's timing a lot! I felt the spirit strongly though.   We also had our last district meeting!  Also Sister A and I had a cool experience that night,  we had just got done planning and I had the impression we should fast the next day and I didn't say anything until we got in bed and turned out the lights and I asked her how she felt about fasting and she said she got the exact same impression... UNITY!!

Thursday we fasted!! Fasting really does open your eyes to miracles,  we were a lot more bold in lessons and in finding and though we didn't see any huge miracles, we still were a lot more in tune with the spirit and picked up some new investigators.  Also we had a meeting at the stake and they asked us to share missionary experiences and I told that one, and someone else told one about how they felt prompted to serve someone and someone got baptized out it and one of the stake guys was like, even though these two stories had different results, they both did the same thing, following promptings.  That was just what I needed to hear, because that is what missionary work is all about.

Friday we taught somebody we met Thursday and he told us he'd come to church...even though he didn't end up coming it still was cool.

Saturday we went to the temple!! So fun! I love the temple! Especially the Chicago temple!! It was so fun to go with the other Sisters we had a great time!!

Sunday we taught relief society which actually went pretty well for us finding out at 9pm the night before we have to teach.  So yeah, that was good, also any day you take the sacrament is awesome!  Also we stopped by a less active we've been trying to talk to and she was home!! Yay! We are going to try to do some service for her.

Well that is about all, I love this work even though sometimes it is really hard.  I wouldn't trade the past 14 months for anything.

Fun fact:  President Jacobsen is the coolest, he told us he tried to get permission for us to go to the BYU vs MSU game and got denied... he is the best!  He really has helped me know how to work hard and do my best!!

Kalamazion

Happy Halloween week and CONGRATS ON THE BOY ABBY!! Can't believe ANOTHER baby is in our family!! It's great!

Monday was Halloween! We didn't do much because we are short on cars for all of the missionaries in the area to get places but whatever.  We got to go to a branch party at the branch president's house and we had a campfire!! Yay!

Tuesday I went on trade-offs in Kalamazoo, it was a blast! We got to do service and check up on some referrals they had.  Also I had one of the best dinner appointments of my mission!  The fed us Ham Crepes and Ice-cream filled crepes and you know how I can pound the crepes.  Also the family was hilarious so I got to laugh really hard!

Wednesday we went finding on campus like... all day, but we got 3 appointments for the next day which was way cool!!

Thursday we met with A, we first talked to him on Wednesday and his lesson was SO great! We asked him if he believed it was true and he said "Well I don't think it is a coincidence we met, I have been thinking about God a lot more recently"  He is so cool!!

Friday we taught Y (From Three Rivers) She is legit!! She asks super great questions and is very interested! Also we taught a member referral who is super solid! Her name is S.  We celebrated the good lessons with Sushi on the 10th floor of a building so we ate with a nice view of Kalamazoo!

Saturday the Elders had a baptism... (again, they are baptizing nations)  And H came!! Everybody loved her!! It was a great baptism as well!

Sunday was good, although no one came to church... oh well.  I was kind of having a rough day and the lesson in relief society was about the "Forget me Not"  talk by Uctdorf and that was exactly what I needed to hear.

Anyway, that is about all, sometimes missions are hard, but it still is the best decision I have ever made. Plus any time I'm discouraged, I can be reminded that Christ has been there with me.  I am so grateful for him!

Fun fact:  The name Robertson means valiant! Proud to wear my families name everyday... even though I only share it with like half of you now...

Some inspiring quotes and the view from the tower.

Also I forgot to mention, Saturday I got to speak at a member's funeral, it was super sad, but I am glad  I could help her family out.

Holy Ghost Party!

Hey family!! Can't believe it has been another week!!

Monday we got to carve pumpkins with the branch... yay!! It was fun!

Tuesday we had some solid lessons with R and J... R has no problem with the Word of Wisdom... yay!! ALSO...EW..... So we were walking around campus and we saw this guy with a Christian stand so we stopped to talk to him... just to be friendly and nice... and HE WAS A PUNK!! He started going off about how we are terrible people because we believe we can be like God and we tired to stop the convo and leave, but he kept going... THEN he told me I don't know Jesus... I was mad so I bore testimony and told him I hope he treats people in a Christ like way... man people are rude... maybe I am rude for venting about this.... Sorry..

Wednesday J CAME TO INSTITUTE!!! We didn't think she was coming and it was a FREEZING cold day and we were a little late and we walked in Drenched from the rain and cold but THERE SHE WAS!! #blessings!

Thursday we had a GREAT lesson with E... right now he is my fav person to teach because he gets SOOOO  pumped about everything!! He took notes on the Plan of Salvation and in his prayer he said that we blew his mind.... HECK YAY!! He is awesome!

Friday We had another great Plan of Salvation lesson with a lady from THREE RIVERS!!! Named Y!! It was sweet!! This week made me realize how I really take the Plan of Salvation for granted! It was awesome!!

Saturday we were on campus and we found this WAY cool guy that we had actually talked to before, It was a super spiritual conversation and we set up a return appointment for the next day.  Also we got to go to the family ward Trunk or Treat!! yay!! It was awesome!

Sunday was FANTASTIC!! So church was great... R came... Yay!! Also the guy from Saturday (O) We had a sweet lesson with! It was great!  Then the Elders in the Branch had a baptism that night and it was SOOO SPIRITUAL!! One of the coolest baptisms I have ever been to!! She was baptized by her boyfriend and she is just awesome....

Missionary work is the best!! Love you all!

Fun fact: I had a dream that I got shot last night and I told Sister A that during studies and then the next scripture she said said "Thou shalt not fear death"... spooky!!

"Identity theft is not a joke Jim!"

Hello, a crazy busy week! Sometime I feel like a spastic bee that never stops moving but it is good! If that even makes sense... probably not!!

Monday we got to go shopping!!! yay!! It was really fun! I love the sisters here! Then we drove to St. Joseph for Trade-offs

Tuesday were trade-offs! We taught a lot of cool people and picked up a new investigator K! She is super cool!! She really liked the Pre-earth life! Also we had a lesson with Rose and we brought a member and he may have gone a little too deep.... oh well!!

Wednesday we had to do zone-training... So basically I had to get up and speak in front of a huge group of missionaries, which was scary.  Can you imagine little Sister Robertson doing that??? What the heck.

Thursday we had a good day! We taught R, and a member bought us dinner!! They have a way nice dining hall here!! We were grateful!

Friday was a blast!! I went on Trade-offs and we had a way good time... Sister Me is great! I love the Sister's here!! We visited a 100 year old lady and we visited a lady and brought her a Book of Mormon and she said she knew it was true! Just from reading the intro!!

Saturday we blitzed the Kalamazoo 1st ward sisters and it was fun!! I got to ride a bus which was super cool! We found some way sweet people!! We also had lunch at Olive Garden. At the end of the day we were walking home for dinner and we saw a guy on the road and we talked to him and gave him a Book of Mormon.  He said he was super glad we stopped because he saw us and was hoping we would come talk to him.  He is cool!!

Sunday was good! Some great speakers!! I just love taking the sacrament! Also my comp sang in church and it was lovely!

Here is a quote for you "  Do we realize how blessed we are to take upon us the name of God's only begotten son?  Do we understand how significant that is?  The Savior's name is the only name under heaven by which man can be saved."

How lucky I am to wear it every day!!

Fun Fact:  Guess what came to WMU?  Yeah, the Book of Mormon play... walking around campus has been super interesting lately... especially when they have posters of Elders around campus.... I want no part of this crap... Identity theft is the worst

Someone threw a clock out the window...

BECAUSE TIME IS FLYING!! Hahaha dumb joke I know... I just had to get you interested in my weekly e-mail...

Monday we taught this super cool guy named A., we asked him if he had prayed and he said yes, that God told him that he needed to meet with his daughters... so cool!! (too bad he dropped us later in the week...:() Also we got to go to my favorite smoothie place while we waited for the new sisters in the Zone

Tuesday we taught a lot... which is the best!! Also we taught the Plan of Salvation on a whiteboard again and the girl (  Natalie)  Was so excited she took a picture of it! And she said the reason she was meeting with us was because of the feeling she felt when she first talked to us... yay!! She is so cool!!

Wednesday We got to do service for a less active which was nice because sometimes it is super nice to get off campus for a while.  Also he wanted us to teach him a lesson and we weren't even planning on it!! It was so great!!

Thursday we taught rose and she decided to come to church!! YAy!! Also we are running low on funds and weren't able to pack a lunch but we had such a tender mercy because a member took us to lunch AT MY FAVORITE PLACE!!! It was wonderful! Then that night we traded off with the Three Rivers sisters!

Friday we had some sweet lessons on trade-offs ... we taught E... He is my fav because he gets SO PUMPED about everything we teach him, and he has a sincere desire to learn!!

Saturday the Elders had a baptism and R came!! It was so great!! I love how simple and pure the ordinance of baptism is.  It was a great experience.  Also we picked up a really cool investigator and we have been really trying to listen to the spirit more because sometimes it is almost easy to go off on automatic mode when you have been out a while... The whole day though we were very lead by the spirit and I just loved it!!

Rose came to church!!! Not sure how she felt about it though... sacrament meeting was about baptisms for the dead which we have not taught yet.... so hopefully she felt the spirit!!  Also it was a beautiful fall rainy day!!

fun fact:  Monday we were walking on campus and we saw this freaking huge praying mantis and we stopped to look at it and some guy came up and was like " Yo I gotta snap-chat this"  Then we saved the grass hopper from getting trampled by people and we got the guys number and set up an appointment with him.... so this grasshopper could potentially be responsible for a baptism!!!

Well, good week, love you all lots!! Hopefully all is well!!

PS I love letters... just thought I'd let you know... :)

Spiritual Highs, Sleepovers, Reunions and Celeberties

Wow, this week was wonderful!! I just loved it!!

Monday we played apples to apples at the church which was fun! We played conference jeopardy and my team won.

Tuesday we had some sweet lessons, we taught J a fashion design major, and we put Jared on date!! His lessons are as spiritual as ever!! I love that guy!!

Wednesday we went finding on campus... all day!! And we were walking to the church for dinner and we got caught in the rain... we were DRENCHED!!! Yeah My rain coat and my bag did not even kind of protect me or my stuff from the rain... whatever.  We made some hot chocolate once we got to the church and some members took us back to change, and we played conference jeopardy again for institute... My team won... coincidence?  I think not!! I just loved conference

Thursday we got to go to Grand Rapids for a mission meeting because Elder Brett Nielson of the 70 was there.  It was SO spiritual and I learned a lot and I got to see a ton of my friends!! Like Sister Eisert!  Yay mission friends!! This mission is so big that that is rare....Then we got to stay in Lansing for the night because it wasn't time efficient to go back to Kalamazoo because we had to go up for a leadership conference the next day.  So we went to a FANTASTIC Indian food in Lansing with The Zone Leaders, the Assistants and a missionary who just got home from this mission.  We had a good time with the MSU sisters!!

Friday we worked on MSU for a bit in the morning... and got Sushi for lunch... holla!!  Then we drove to Midland for the Leadership conference.  The spirit was so strong in the room.  I can't explain it.  Then we had dinner, got to see Sister Mathis from the MTC love her!! Then we stayed in Lansing again and I got to sleep over with Sister Viehweg!! I love her!! We had SO much fun!!

Saturday was our P-day because it was transfers so we got to go to the BYU MSU tailgate lunch... and there I got to see SISTER T!!! So basicallly I got to see all of the companions I served with which made this week the best week ever.  it was a Tender mercy being able to stay in Lansing for those days.  Because my mission friends that I did not get to see at the half mission conference I saw there at the tailgate... it was the best.  There was a bunch of Mormons there who would come up and talk to us forever and be so nice... I felt like a celebrity.  Also we got transfer calls and we are staying in K-zoo

Sunday was great, it was one of the Elders in our branch's last Sunday and testimony meeting was SO powerful!! One of the best I've been too... too bad none of our investigators were there... :(

Anyway, I love the Michigan Lansing Mission, we truly are family.  I am so grateful to be a part of it.  President and Sister Neilson both said there was a very special feeling about this mission and I 100% agree.  God knows what he is doing putting me here.  Great week, great spiritual experiences and great friends.

Superbowl Weekend (Conference)

First of all... CONFERENCE WAS SO GOOOD!!!!! I JUST LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT!!! I hope you all did too... I loved Nelsons talk, and Elder Cornishes about trying, and Just everyone's!!!

Anyway here is my week....

Monday- We had a very relaxing p-day and it was the Kalamazoo 1st Ward Sister's last night staying with us... so we partied by eating a whole tub of pumpkin praline ice cream between the four of us... do I regret it... No, I should but it tasted really good. Also it is only fall once.... (a year)

Tuesday we got stood up... a lot.  But it was cool because we walked out of the building and I said "I just want to teach some one!!"  And the next person we talked to we had a lesson with... so basically Heavenly Father hears everything... haha!  Also a Member took us to lunch which was fun!!

Wednesday we had district meeting and ate lunch in the Costco food court because it is cheap... haha! Then we taught a sweet lesson with H!   We taught her the Plan of Salvation and we got to draw it out on a whiteboard because we rented a room in the library... I felt so legit.  She is also way cool and sincere!!

Thursday I went on trade-offs with Sister Palmer in the Kalamazoo 2nd Ward.  We door knocked into a way Filipino lady!! She was so cute and wanted to learn and made me really want to go there!! Also I met someone who is 100!

Friday was SO GOOD!! We picked up a new investigator named E and he is SO COOL!! He was just PUMPED about everything we told him and he has a member in one of his classes and he was like, so tell me about this conference this weekend?  And he was so excited to watch it!! THEN we had a miracle finding lesson with this guy J who said he has been looking for a church and that we helped him and THEN we taught J!! Sister A taught him the first lesson last week when we were on trade-offs and so we taught him the Plan of Salvation... THE SPIRIT WAS SO STRONG!! He was even a little teary!!! And we asked him If he wanted to be baptized and he said he thinks so!!! yay!!!!!!! I WAS SO HAPPY!! Then we played Frisbee with the branch in the rain!

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WERE GREAT!! I just loved conference... did anyone else catch when Uchtdorf called missionaries precious??? Highlight of my life!! So grateful to be serving at this time!! We watched conference in the basement of our building (which used to be an old baptist church so it is pretty sweet)  I will send pictures!

Love you all!! The church is true!! I love prophets and apostals!!

Fun Fact:  I always say "If there is one thing I have learned on my mission..."  and then a number of various things, and Sister Anderson said I always say that so I decided "If there is one thing I've learned on my mission it's that I've learned too many things to narrow it down to just one thing"

Fourth Floor Last Door Missionary

Another week has flown by out here.  It is crazy.  Here are some of the updates for the week.

Monday- Another great Sister P-day! Hung out took naps... the usual.

Tuesday we had a pretty long day of finding, we also got to clean the church which was good

Wednesday we had a great district meeting on trials.  Every time something worthwhile is going to happen in our lives we get hit really hard with temptation on trial.  It happened to Joseph Smith.  So we talked a lot about how to prepare our investigators for that time, and prepare ourselves as well.  Because it is inevitable.  We also had a great lesson with H! She signed up to get a free Book of Mormon at the Bronco Bash!! She is awesome! She is really sincere in learning and it is wonderful.

Thursday.... So unfortunately L told us she didn't want to meet anymore... I'm still sad about it but whatever.  She said she will keep reading though as she studies other faiths... I just love her.  R also met with us and she is doing really well! Reading and really trying to understand.  It is great.

Friday I got to go back to Three Rivers again!! Yay!! It was so fun! I got to see D and I just love that lady!! That place is so great!!

Saturday was long,  we weekly planned and found on campus for a bit.  Then we went to the Women's Conference which was AMAZING! I LOVED Uchtdorfs talk about the missionaries knocking on the last door!! So cool!! It really fit along with what our Zone is working on this week which is diligence..... Diligence is so important!!

Sunday was also awesome! We had a super spiritual Sunday school lesson about 3 Nephi 17, which is my very favorite BOM chapter!! I loved it!!

Well, I love this work because I love Christ, I hope you all know that.

Fun Fact:  This week on trade-offs in Three Rivers we knocked into this lady and she asked us if we had knocked the door next door, we hadn't yet so we told her no... she goes "Oh good She's wanted for murder, drug deal gone wrong."  Oh man how I loved serving in the Ghetto.

Love you all!!

The Spirit is Willing but The Flesh Is Weak

We had a pretty good week!! So our last few weeks have been finding.... and finding....and finding.... but this week we did some teaching!! And better yet... got a lot of members out with us!!
Things are picking up here!!

We picked up some sweet new investigators, I will tell you about them.....

One signed up for a free copy of the Book of Mormon at the Bronco Bash, she said she has been reading it and she really likes it!! We are meeting with her tomorrow.

One Is from the Dominican Republic, he is awesome and super smart and the Plan of Salvation made a lot of sense to him!! He loved it.

We also had a sweet really spiritual lesson with this guy who wasn't sure he believed in God, we got him to promise to Pray!!

One is Catholic, but really open and nice.

On the down side... Our investigator L hasn't met with us since we taught the Law of Chastity... she said she has been doing a lot of pondering... PRAY FOR HER I LOVE HER!!

Also on Saturday Sister E was in Kalamazoo for the day and it was so awesome!! Sister A and I both had a part in training her so we got to go to lunch with our "Child"  She is doing great!

Anywho, the Kalamazoo first ward sisters are still living with us which is a party and a half... we love them!! I will miss them!! I am exhausted though.... everytime I sit down I fall asleep.  Also I was a little sick this week, not enough to stay home but I didn't do a very good job of working out this week.... Any advice?  haha I guess it is just part of mission life!

Also we have been having a lot of lessons recently about Marriage and family (I am mostly just trying to ignore the fist part)  But I am just SO grateful for my family!! I don't know how I am so lucky to have you all!!  Thank you for being such great examples of Living the gospel to me!

Fun fact:  E gave a talk in Church yesterday!! So fun that someone I taught is now teaching others!!

Wild Wild Western

Ok sorry I never e-mailed last week! It was busy... So I will give you a summary of the past two weeks...

Week one....
Not much happened.  A lot of our investigators were out of town, so we went finding.... A LOT!! I was exhausted by the end of the week... I fell asleep on a chair in campus while we were calling some potentials.... I will send a pic.  We had a few great tender mercies  though!

-An investigator got us smoothies!
-A guy was playing guitar on campus and he happened to play coldplay (Since I can't go to the concert)
-I found a free t-shirt on the ground and I took it home....hehe it was brand new never been worn don't worry
-We got to watch a Wedding on campus! Yay!!
-So a new area opened up in the Zone and they get to live with us while they get their apartment ready! That has been a blast having another set of sisters to come home to... I think we have a little too much fun...

Week two....
Started off the week with a P-day trip to lake Michigan!! Wooo!! We had a blast playing in the sand!
On Tuesday we had MLC which was awesome, just what I needed! President Jacobsen took us out into the woods by a river and we talked about the Restoration and the spirit was so strong.  I loved it!

Wednesday we had trade-offs with Sister W who I was in the MTC with! It was super fun!  Crazy to think we have been out a year!! We also got a crazy feminist lady to talk to us about how fluoride makes you not able to feel the spirit and how the pope's outfit is a reference to drugs... Crazy things people from Michigan say....

Thursday we had some awesome lessons with Lydia and a new investigator Halana... She seems really interested! During Lydia's lesson she said she gets so frustrated when people mix us up with FLDS...  and she wants to stand up for us every time!! We also had interviews with president... I love President Jacobsen!

Friday we hit our 1 Year mark!! We celebrated by INDIAN FOOD BUFFET!! yeah, that's right... It was amazing.  After we had a both at WMU's bronco bash.  So the branch members and us missionaries got to talk to a lot of people and invite them to activities.  It was super cool!

Saturday we found a lot and weekly planned

Sunday was good! I gave a talk, unfortuanately L didn't come to church which made me sad... but that is ok!

My soul has seriously been delighting in the scriptures lately... I learn so much!! Studies are the best!!

Fun fact: (Reader Digression advised)  So guess what booth they decided to put next to ours at the Bronco Bash...?  Yeah the STD booth.... So as we were talking to people about Jesus the people next to us were yelling FREE CONDOMS I'm sorry this is inappropriate but it is true.(Also kind-of Hilarious)   So grateful for the Gospel

Cool poster, girls i came out with, celebrating 1 year
