Watch Tan Lines

Greetings!! I feel like I always say the same thing in the first sentence so pretend this one is exciting!

Monday.... Super fun! Had a zone p-day which was great... when you get 30 elders and 8 sisters.... you spend the whole day playing sports...which I am super bad at, but I still had a good time.

Tuesday I had trade-offs so I spent the day in Wyoming.  (No not the state, that would be cool though)  Learned a lot! We went to a hole in the wall diner that was great!!

Wednesday we had a way cool experience because we got a text from a potential we door knocked into like a week ago and he invited us to come back at seven, so we did and they were AMAZING!! They are looking for the gospel and they have a little son and they were super cool! pray all will go well with them!

Thursday was carfast.  We walked A LOT.  We were able to have a lesson with a super cute old couple! Unfortunately they weren't interested but they were super nice.

Friday we visited our investigator D, in the hospital, she has pneumonia, so we have to wait on her baptism.  We also taught a lesson with this lady who told us some crazy stories about her life.  People up here have some pretty insane stories... Like taking a chainsaw to your neighbors house crazy.  Also we had a lesson with R.  I love her to death, but she is struggling to get an answer about the Book of Mormon.  I think it may be because she isn't reading.  We are praying for her.

Saturday was LONG

we had a lot of doors slammed in our faces that day, but a blessing was, there was an RM who used to be in the branch who came to visit and took us out to lunch! He gave us some stellar  mission advice and it was just what I needed that day!

Sunday church was great! A cute new couple moved in for the summer! We are excited about that! We also had a great FHE about genealogy!

Missionary work is great! Also you get sweet watch tan lines sometimes and learn a lot about yourself!

Fun fact:  EVERYONE in Michigan watches game shows.  If we go to someones house around 2, you always know they will be watching that one pyramid game show.  It's hilarious.  I love this place.

That's all, sorry I have no picks and this is in 2 e-maills.

Say Yes! To Baptism! (feat. Goats)

AMAZING week here in the MLM.  Lovin it!
So Monday we went shopping and I got a super cool Michigan Shirt.
Tuesday was great, we had carfast that day because we had interveiws on Thursday and we went to go to a dinner appointment with some members and they took us to this ice cream place in the middle of nowhere and it was super great, we found some goats that had escaped and took pictures with them.   Then a cop asked us if they were ours.  The ice cream was HUGE... I will send a pic... I ate it in 2 sittings... I'm ashamed, but also proud.
Wednesday was good. We had dinner with a super awesome couple in the ward and they told us there great conversion story.  Also we door knocked into a lady who owned bearded dragon lizzards, and we got to pet them #michiganisthebest
Thursday we had interviews with President which were great! It is always good to see Pres. Jacobsen.  We had a great district meeting about Testifying! It invites the spirit so strong.  We also practiced our song for the baptism... Never thought I'd be singing in front of people
Friday we had a church tour with a college student who had been meeting with missionaries down in K-zoo.  She is super cool and we are so excited to start teaching her.  We also got free Pizza for dinner! Also we had M's interview.
Saturday was the best! It was M's baptism and it went so well.  The spirit was so strong and she just GLOWED!! It was amazing. I was on a high the rest of the day.  We also had a sweet lesson with R and she was able to come to the baptism.
Sunday we went to church and visited the lady who we found door-knocking who is a member of the church.  Also we had a GREAT family home evening with M and the H about how to do missionary work.  It was fun! We made them role play introducing the BOM.
Well, the Church is so true.  I love you all.
Fun fact: So the name Laura (LAR-A)  is like impossible for Michiganders to comprehend So Sister Trent and I decided  I'm going to change my name to Quesidilla Robertson Casey for short

Chinese Food and Cat Hair

Hey everyone! Super great to talk to the family yesterday.  I just love you all!!! I don't have much to say this week though.... I will try to make it exciting.

Tuesday we had a super crappy lesson with D,  her son was there and he was saying stuff... that did not invite the spirit... So we dropped them.  I always hate doing that.

Wednesday we had district meeting, then we had a lesson with W and we brought up baptism... it seemed as though she was not very happy about that.  It's ok though because later that night we taught D and she is doing great!  I love her.  We door knocked into a super cool thug guy from Chicago who was telling us about his prison life too so that was cool!

Thursday was carfast day and so we walked around to the churches around town to find service.  We got to help some Catholic ladies hang pictures.  They were super nice and gave us a ride home!! We also got some amazing ice cream and the weather was beautiful!! We talked to another super cool thug guy  and gave him a book of Mormon.

Friday we got SUNBURNT!! It was so sunny!! Also we went and had dinner at a members house and the wife is chinese so she made us some authentic Chinese food, he just kept piling the food on our plate... she is super funny! And her cat LOVES us I came home COVERED in cat hair.

Saturday we got to go to M's son's Birthday party!! That was super fun! M is awesome and is so ready for baptism.  It was so fun to spend time with her family.  Then we went finding for a while and we reached our goal of 15 finding hours.... so we bought a crap load of candy.... There are some super fun skittle flavors out there!  We also had a great lesson with R.  I love her.

Sunday I gave a talk in church on my mom... GO MOM!! MOM'S ARE THE BEST!! We also taught in Relief society and like no one in the branch was there.  So that was fun.  Then we had lunch at a member's and skyped!! It was so fun to see you all!! Jude is HUGE and Eva is adorable.  Then we went over to another member's house and they are just GREAT!!

Well I love the gospel! You really learn how to apply everything about it on a mission.  Especially the atonement!! Have a great week!

Fun fact: They have American Skittles now, and sweet and sour skittles.  They are super good.

Foggy Gene

Hey everyone! This week has  been.... a week

Monday was good, average p-day... just took a nap and stuff.  We had a cool lesson though! We went to stop by a former (W) and she told us to come back on Wednesday, then she called us and said actually can we meet now? And we met and cleared up a lot of questions she had.  It was great!

Tuesday we went door knocking and we found an old member! He said he didn't believe the whole Joseph Smith thing but he does believe the Book of Mormon to be inspired... don't know how that works, but he loved the church and we invited him to come back!  We also helped a family in our ward move.

Wednesday we did service for an older lady in the ward and we taught W again.  I was kind of having an off day so we went to go get ice cream so I would feel better and then.... as we pulled into the parking-lot my tire rubbed against another car and dented it.. and the people were in the car.. and of course I was driving.  NO GOOD.... THE FOGGY GENE STRIKES AGAIN! I was not happy.  Then we had dinner with a super funny old couple in the branch.

Thursday we went to lunch with S and we had to walk forever to go to the library to fill out my accident report.  Then we had dinner with a super fun family that night.

Friday we were exhausted so we got some Soda and it made us super hyper... so that was fun! We also taught one of our investigator who has had a super rough background and it made me SO grateful for my family! We also taught R and it was a good lesson! We asked her why she thinks God has put so many missionaries in her path (She is a daughter of a member and they feed the missionaries every week )  We think she is starting to see that this could be the path for her.  It was a good lesson!

Saturday We had 2 dinner appointments... blah!  They were good though!  We also got to do some service.

Sunday we Had Church and that night we had a super great family home evening with a few members of the branch and M.  She is SO ready for baptism.  She brought her sister too.

Today we got to go to the Zoo with our district!! It was SO fun!  There was some sweet tigers and stuff.  P-days when you actually do stuff are great!

Fun fact: Michigan has a special dish called a pasty and I finally had one this week... they are pretty good!

Well that is about it!  I love you all! Also I love the gospel

Prisoners of Walmart

Yet another wild week from the wild state of Michigan.

So Monday not much happened.  Sister T got sick so we stayed in again,  she was sick Tuesday as well.  And I got a little stir crazy... I HATE SICKNESS!

Wednesday we had a great district meeting, then we met with a member who hasn't been coming for a while and she is so great! We had a really good talk with her and I think she really needed a friend.

Thursday we helped do service for a member and she made us GREAT burgers... best I have ever had.  Also we were door knocking on this street and NO ONE wanted to hear.  This guy was like "Ya from Jesus!! Ya From God!!! GEt the ...... off my porch!!!" I think he was super drunk, but glad he knew who we were from! So we were discouraged but we stopped by a potentials house and she was super nice and we set up a time to meet.

Friday we had a terrible experience.  We had to get our tires changed so we went to Walmart and we waited for a while for them to change them.  Then we called the mission office because they normally just give the payment card over the phone, but since Walmart doesn't do that they held us hostage... NO JOKE. We couldn't leave untill it was paid for.  They couldn't bill it or anything.  Luckily a member called us and said he would come bail us out.  It was SO NICE of him.  We then had dinner with him and had a great night, but it was after we had spent 3.5 hours in Walmart.  UGH! So if Eva ever asks where aunt Laura was when she was born, you can say she was a prisoner of Walmart.

Saturday we went door knocking and it was GREAT weather!  Sister T made me a flower crown because she things I'm a hippy?  I don't know.

Sunday was INSANE.  The woman who we found when we ate the milkshakes came to relief society!! Also a new couple moved in which is great!  God will take care of us! Also we had a scare at the end of chuch because one of our investigators had a seizure, we had to go see her in the hospital.  We think she is ok though.  It was just a crazy day.

Fun fact: I tried hot dogs last night and I think I like them now!

I'm sorry if my e-mails don't seem that spiritual.  I just don't exactly know how to describe the spiritual moments.  I promise my testimony is growing! A TON!

Love you all! Congrats on the Baby Mollly!!

Weddings, and Conference, and puke (OH MY!)

WHAT A WEEK!! Man Missionary work is just crazy.  Especially this week.  But it was GREAT!!
So Monday was p-day.... I don't really remember much, just another p-day.
TUESDAY WAS WONDERFUL. So we had a Zone Conference which is always fun because you get to see your mission friends, which when you live an hour away from the closest missionaries, that is super nice.  But it was also SUPER inspired.  It was exactly what the mission needed.  We talked a lot about how to make our finding and teaching more effective and it was just great.  Also we got to go wedding outfit shopping with M in Grand Rapids that day!! It was so fun!!!
Wednesday we found and we used the ideas we were given at Zone Conference and it was SO HELPFUL!! Even if they still weren't interested we still felt the spirit.
Thursday we walked A LOT it was carfast day and our appointments all bailed.  So We were super tired at the end and we were craving milkshakes, so we decided to walk all the way to the gas station to get f"reals.  As we left, I told Sister Trent that Heavenly Father would work through this strange craving that we had and sure enough... HE DID.  He  is the coolest.  A less active that hasn't wanted contact with the church stopped to try to give us a ride and said she needed to have us over.   It was SO cool.  #inspiredmilkshakes
Friday we taught a great lesson about the plan of salvation with our investigator S.  We thought he dropped us but his phone was broken.  He is great.  I was feeling sick though, so I was in for part of the day.  Then we had dinner at someones house and had a really good lesson with them.... But I threw up the dinner that night.....#grossyucksickyuckpuke I was super worried too because we had D and M's wedding the next day.
Saturday... WEDDING!!! It was great!!! I did feel sick still, and I may have gotten others sick.... BUT It was a beautiful day!!  I am so happy for them and the branch helped out and it was just a great day!!! Then we had stake conference that night which was good.  E also got baptized that day.  I was sad I missed that.
Sunday we were sick... We went to stake conference and we felt crappy so we took a nap in the car.  Then we drove home and rested for the day.  I HATE BEING SICK.  Especially on a mission it is the worst.
Fun fact: On the way home from stake conference, we hit a skunk! EW.
I love you all, and I love the gospel!! Have a good week and read yo scriptures!

Birds and Toes

Another good week here in the MLM!
Monday hahaha we had a "treat yo self"  day because a member gave us coupons to a pedicure place.... it was so funny because one of the ladies noticed I had an ingrown toe-nail so she goes "I get it out... it hurt little bit"  NO HURT A LOT! I was like ow ow ow ow ow and then I looked down and there was a big chunk of my toenail now outside of my toe... That's one way to do it.
Tuesday we saw our investigator M., she is getting married  so she can get baptized!! We are so happy!! We also played uno with a member who LOVES missionaries and took some sweet cowboy hat pics.
Wednesday we had District meeting.  Then we got to teach a really awesome New Investigator W.  She is really excited to learn more.  We taught D, and unfortunately had to move her date back :(  But she will get baptized!! We also went over to D's and her son was there and he gave us a huge long lecture about how we don't know anything about the world and we should take his advice...
Thursday was car fast day,  I don't think anything exciting happened that day.  It was pretty uneventful.
Friday We had a super awesome meeting with someone who hasn't been to church in a while, he listened to conference and we talked about it and the spirit was really strong.  And he said he knew it would only help him, and he was there on Sunday! We were happy! We also were lucky enough to have a member order us Pizza, so nice!!
Saturday We went finding for a long time, and no one was being very charitable... it happens.  But we went out to dinner with a family we love, the mom is a member and the daughter said she was open to discussions!  We are so excited to teach her!
Sunday we went to church and I felt sick after, so I had to go home and rest.  But now I am feeling better!
Fun fact:one of our investigators has cockatoo!! We got to hold it!!
This week I am so grateful for the atonement.  I make a lot of mistakes and I am so glad that God cares enough about me to let me have a way back home no matter what happens.

I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO TITLE THIS

This week was crazy.  I think I say that every week.  That is my hook to get you all interested tee hee....but it was.

Monday we watched some Church movies, and chilled.  The pioneers are SO INSPIRING!  It got me pumped for the next week of missionary work.

Tuesday was pretty uneventful.  We had to drop one of our investigators which was sad.  She is so sweet. So we were walking all day that day, and I was wearing some shoes that were new and they gave me terrible blisters. I ended up taking them off.  I just kept thinking of the pioneers.  And it was so cool because we were walking down the street and we were talking about how nice it would be if someone came up and drove us home and fed us... No joke 2 minutes later a member drove by and gave us a ride and took us home for dinner.  GOD HEARS EVERYTHING!!

Wednesday we got lost on the way home from district meeting and went over 60 miles on our mile limitation... ooops.  We told the members and one made a cartoon of it.  It is hilarious I will send it next week (I forgot my camera this week.)   Also we had to walk again and we were walking home from a lesson and it was raining and I was cold, and again I was thinking how great it would be if a member picked us up and fed us.....AND JUST THEN One of the member's drove by and was like, "Hey! I'm picking up some Pizza for young women's, get in!"  So we did AND One of our investigators little sister's came to young women's that night.  SO COOL!!!

Thursday was raining.... I was drenched.  We were waking around campus to try to talk to people, and of course no one was interested, so we got lunch at Mcdonalds and we looked like we had just gotten out of the shower and we looked pathetic.  Luckily another member came by and offered to take us home to change because we were wet... AMAZING!!

Friday was sad.  We had to push back D's baptismal date and an investigator shined us.  AND Arby's was out of Mint shakes.  So we were sad.

Saturday was GREAT because CONFERENCE! I love conference.

Sunday we had a member that had just moved in join us for conference and they brought their sister so that was cool.  We watched the afternoon session with a member and one of our investigators was there and she is getting married soon so She can get baptized!!! It was sooooo great!

Wasn't conference just the best! Jeffery R. Holland's talk was amazing.

Fun fact: We got fed curry twice this week.  I LOVE CURRY!

That's all! Love you all!
